HORA: Luxury Watch Platform

Luxury watch platform that unites collection, marketplace, concierge and travel security modules in one app; a demo build made with React Native (Expo), NestJS and PostgreSQL.

HORA: Luxury Watch Platform

HORA is a mobile platform designed for luxury watch owners and collectors, running on iOS and Android. It brings collection, marketplace, concierge and travel security modules together in a single application. The project currently exists as a demo build that has not yet been published to the app stores and demonstrates the product experience end to end.

About the Project

In the luxury watch world, collection tracking, buying and selling, personalised services and security while travelling are usually spread across unrelated channels. HORA aims to consolidate these needs under one application and give watch owners a unified experience. Without leaving the app where they manage their collection, users can reach the marketplace, submit a concierge request and use the travel security module.

The design language takes a minimal approach inspired by Louis Vuitton. Across all 17 screens, the interface relies on a restrained visual hierarchy that keeps the content and the watches in focus; consistency and legibility take priority over decorative elements. This approach preserves the calm, controlled product feel the luxury segment expects on a mobile screen.

The project was designed end to end, covering the mobile app, the API layer, the database and the management panel. At this stage HORA is a demo build and has not been released on the app stores.

Key Features

  • Collection: Gathers the watches a user owns into a single digital inventory. Seeing the collection at a glance provides the basis for both personal tracking and interaction with the other modules.
  • Marketplace: A marketplace module where collectors can buy and sell watches. Because luxury watch trading depends on trust, it operates within the same account and collection context as the rest of the app.
  • Concierge: Lets users submit personalised service requests from inside the app. It brings the one-to-one service experience expected in the luxury segment to a digital channel.
  • Travel security: A module that addresses watch owners’ need to keep their collection safe while travelling. Since high-value items are exposed to risk during a journey, this module is an integral part of the platform.
  • Minimal design language: A Louis Vuitton-inspired, restrained interface applied consistently across 17 screens; it puts product imagery and content in the foreground.
  • Management panel: A web panel built with Next.js that allows the operational side of the platform to be managed from one place.

Technology & Architecture

HORA consists of three layers, the mobile client, the server and the management panel, designed together end to end.

  • Mobile app: Built with React Native (Expo). It compiles for both iOS and Android from a single codebase; the Expo toolchain simplifies building, updating and testing on devices.
  • Server: The API layer is built on NestJS and offers a modular structure. Areas such as collection, marketplace, concierge and travel security can be developed and maintained as separate modules.
  • Database: PostgreSQL stores user, collection and marketplace data in a relational model, providing data integrity and flexible querying.
  • Management panel: The Next.js panel covers the platform’s web-side management needs from a single interface.

The project is at the demo stage; the mobile app has not yet been published to the app stores.
